We have successfully completed over 1,200 projects. Provided below are brief synopses from a few of them:
Library of Congress
Our several projects with the Library of Congress have resulted in millions of page images, many of which are on Library of Congress web sites. The scanning and conversion included archival books, documents, legal research, newspapers (in several languages) and microfilm.
U.S. Navy
For the past ten years our continuous projects regarding scanning and document conversion services to the Navy, have included archival documents, tech manuals, engineering drawings, microfilm and fiche. There are millions of pages in Navy databases, in web sites and in secure repositories. Individual projects have ranged from thousands of pages to millions.
NIH
Five years, millions of pages and the Office of the Director keeps coming back for additional services and new projects.
National Aeronautics and Space Administration
For NASA, we restructured legacy index information, verified 340,000 images, converted those images to searchable PDF, restructured the data to mirror the legacy system file structure, retained and restructured the index information for future use and provided a list of any anomalies concerning missing images or invalid index information.
U.S. Mission to the United Nations
We completed a four phase, multi-year project for the U.S. Mission. We converted the bulk of the State Departments research and reference holdings into a Knowledge Management system. The system allows U.S. Missions to find important and sometimes sensitive information. Frequently, when they need information, they need it NOW!!! The solution is widely renowned for ease of use and accuracy by users, all the way up to the Ambassador level.
U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)
For years USDA has depended on Input Solutions to help process the results of agricultural referendums. The data gathered from this process is critical to USDA's mission and helpful to the growers as well. The processing is done on-site at USDA, under the watchful eye of the compliance division. Input Solutions is responsible for all aspects of this project; scanning , data extraction, tallying votes (and other data) and creating reports needed for analysis of the data.
Input Solutions was also selected for a project that was on the Secretary of Agriculture's top ten priority list. The project involved collecting and digitizing data related to milk production and distribution in the US . The results of this project helped the USDA in critical decision making related to milk marketing and were also shared with Congress.
When the USDA Forest Service in Oregon needed important documents scanned and converted to PDF they issued an RFP for the needed services. They were initially hesitant to work with a vendor across the country, but when our bid was selected by contracting as the wining bid we quickly put their reservations to rest. Our technical staff recommended ways for them to solve their file size concerns and helped them work out inconsistencies in the file naming convention. They were impressed with our attention to detail.
USDA's annual "Report to Congress" is a very important official document! When last minute revisions delayed the printing USDA came to Input for a digital solution. We digitized the materials, designed a searchable CD and delivered the quantity needed prior to the deadline.
Our services on multiple projects of different sizes, with varying technical requirements and sometimes very short deadlines resulted in our selection as a USDA Small Business of the Year award winner.
National Archives and Records Administration
We provided scanning, file conversion and professional services to NARA. The project was extremely challenging and multi-faceted. When the NARA e-commerce site was completed, worldwide public access to many of NARA's valuable holdings became available on-line...for the first time ever.
U.S. Army
In a major project with the U.S. Army, we scanned 1.4 million pages that now reside in a full text search and retrieval system. This data is also retrievable by any one of the 12 metadata fields we designed and implemented. In a thank you note to us the project manager acknowledged our "outstanding effort" and his senior leadership's "great satisfaction".
