DAPS - Defense Automation and Production Services Buying through the DOD-DAPS BPA Contract (A GWAC contract) Contract Number - SA4705-04-A-0002

Background:
In early 2004, Input Solutions, Inc. obtained from the Department of Defense (DOD) a multi-year contract for document scanning and conversion services. This contract is managed by a DOD agency, Defense Automation and Production Service (DAPS) which is part of Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). This contract vehicle is available to all federal agencies. It is a Government-Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC) which allows all agencies to "ride the contract". There is no maximum order limit, and competitive requirements are satisfied by using the contract. Use of this contract is considered an inter-agency purchase using your money. DAPS issues a delivery order to Input Solutions. This begins the cycle of document delivery, production and invoicing based on work performed by Input Solutions and accepted by the procuring agency.

The Contract Line Item Numbers (CLINs) include:

• Scanning of hardcopy - black and white, color and gray scale
• Scanning of all micrographic materials & microfilm, microfiche and aperture cards
• Scanning of oversized engineering drawings and maps
• Scanning of books and other bound materials
• State-of-the-art image enhancement
• Conversion of scanned images to PDF, TIFF, JPEG, GIF and many other formats
• Conversion of text based materials via OCR software
• Editing, formatting and clean-up of documents processed through OCR
• Output to PDF, HTML, XML and various Word Processing formats
• Document indexing (Metadata) and file naming
• Preparing document for import into a wide variety of databases (Oracle, Documentum, Filenet, Alchemy, NMCI databases and virtually any other database software
• Recording results onto CD-ROM and DVD
• Delivering turnkey Knowledge Management Databases on CD/DVD, LAN/WAN or WEB based systems
